Merremia dissecta

Stems sparsely hirsute or glabrous. Leaf blades ± polygonal, palmately (5–)7(–9)-lobed, 40–70 × 40–100 mm; lobes ± lance-elliptic, margins usually irregularly pinnati-sinuate, sometimes crenate or dentate, surfaces usually glabrous, sometimes sparsely hairy. Inflorescences: flowers usually solitary, rarely 2–3+-flowered cymes. Flowers: sepals oblong, 18–25 mm, apex mucronate, abaxial surface glabrous; corolla white with purplish throat, 30–45 mm. 2n = 32 (Asia).
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Nov.
Habitat: Disturbed or open sites, roadsides.
Elevation: 0–700 m.

Fla., Ga., Tex., Mexico, West Indies, Central America, South America, introduced in Asia, Africa, Australia.
Discussion
Merremia dissecta has been reported from Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Pennsylvania based on single records and/or cultivated plants; it is apparently not established in those states.
