Shrubs, 10–20 dm, usually silver-silky. Leaves silver-silky; petiole 1–4 cm. Inflorescence bracts 10–24 mm. Racemes 10–15 cm. Flowers 10–14 mm.


Phenology: Flowering Mar–Jun.
Habitat: Coastal scrub, chaparral, open wood­land.
Elevation: 0–500 m.

Discussion

Variety douglasii is known from the San Francisco Bay region, the Central Coast, and the northern Channel Islands.
