Stems erect, branches ascending, moderately hirsute. Leaves (larger) 3–7.5(–8) cm. Peduncles 20–30(–35) cm. Phyllary apices short-attenuate. Paleae: middle teeth white-villous (“bearded”). Rays 11–13(–14). 2n = 34.


Phenology: Flowering spring–fall.
Habitat: Coastal prairies
Elevation: 0–20+ m
