Annuals or perennials; herbage glabrous or sparsely hairy and glabrescent, hairs appressed. Stems usually procumbent or prostrate, sometimes decum­bent, 10–30+ cm. Leaves: blade usually ovate, rarely lanceolate or ± orbiculate, 8–25 × 5–15 mm. Inflores­cences 2- or 3-flowered or flowers solitary; peduncles plus pedicels filiform, 10–25+ mm. Flowers: sepals lanceolate, lanceolate-ovate, or oblong, 2.5–3.5 mm; corolla pale blue or white, campanulate or rotate, limb 8–10 mm diam.


Phenology: Flowering May–Feb.
Habitat: Saline beaches, limestone, ham­mocks.
Elevation: 0–10 m.
