Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Variety clevelandii is confined in the flora area mainly to the low mountains of the Transverse and Peninsular ranges of western Los Angeles, Orange, western Riverside, and San Diego counties. In Baja California, it is in the mountains as far south as the Sierra San Pedro Mártir, and in widely scattered locations along the coast to near El Rosario.
