Flowers: petals pinkish laven­der, base red, unspotted, 20–30 mm; stigma exserted beyond anthers. 2n = 28.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Wood­lands, serpentine soil.
Elevation: 100–500 m.

Discussion

Subspecies tracyi is known from the Inner North Coast Ranges, mainly in Colusa, Lake, and Napa counties, less commonly in Humboldt, Mendocino, Sonoma, Tehama, and Yolo counties.
