Leaf blades: margins denticulate, abaxial surface sparsely to moderately tomentulose, veins ± evident.
Phenology: Flowering Feb–May.
Habitat: Open sites, chaparral, oak and pine woodlands.
Elevation: 10–1100 m.
Distribution
Calif., Mexico (Baja California).
Discussion
Variety olivaceus occurs in southern California from the Transverse Ranges south through the Peninsular Ranges into northern Baja California.
