Plants perennial, 3–5 cm. Leaves 7–14 cm; leaflets 13–21, blades oblanceolate or oblong-obovate, (3–)7.5–15 mm, apex retuse-emarginate. Pedun­cles 7–11 cm. Racemes loosely (7–)15–20-flowered, lax and open in fruit; axis (4–)5.5–9 cm in fruit. Flowers (13–)15–16.7 mm; calyx 6.7–8 mm, tube 5–5.7 mm, lobes 1.6–2.3 mm; corolla purple. Legumes green and unmottled becoming stramineous, plumply ovoid or subglobose, inflated but firm, 15–22 × 9–13 mm, stiffly papery or almost leathery, usually glabrous, rarely puberulent; beak 2–5 mm, unilocular. Seeds 22–34.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–May.
Habitat: Open limestone or granite hill­sides.
Elevation: 1200–1500 m.
