Stems (10–)20–50 cm. Leaflets 3–11, blades 2–25(–33) mm. Bracteoles 0. Pedicels 1–5 mm. Flowers 7.6–8.4 mm; calyx 4.2–6 mm, tube 3.4–4.8 mm, lobes 0.4–1.4 mm. Legumes linear to narrowly oblong, 13–24(–30) × 3.4–4(–4.5) mm, length 4–8(–10) times width, gradually or abruptly contracted to ± symmetric apex. Seeds 18–26.

Phenology: Flowering May–Jun.
Habitat: Pinyon-juniper and sagebrush communities.
Elevation: 1700–2300 m.
