Plants 2–5(–6) dm. Leaf blade oblong to oblanceolate or elliptic, 2–5 × 0.8–2.5 cm, tomentose abaxially, margins plane. Involucres 2–3 mm. Perianths white.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Oct.
Habitat: Sandy to gravelly, often volcanic flats and slopes, saltbush and blackbrush communities, pinyon-juniper and oak woodlands
Elevation: 900-1400 m

Discussion

Variety albiflorum is known only from scattered populations in Washington County, Utah, and in adjacent portions of Mohave County, Arizona.
