Leaf blades round, ovate, elliptic, or reniform, margins entire or crenulate. Proximal inflorescence bracts usually as long as or longer than subtended pedicels, sometimes shorter than subtended pedicels. Flowers: calyx lobes 1.4–3.5(–4.3) mm, apices acute to acuminate; anthers (1.7–)2–3.4 mm. 2n = 46.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Dry to moist forests, bogs
Elevation: 0-3200 m
