Leaf blades 1–3 cm. Involucres campanulate, 4–5 × 5–7 mm.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Sandy flats, manzanita communities, conifer woodlands
Elevation: 1100-1200 m

Discussion

Variety cupulatum occurs in Southern Siskiyou County.
