Stems simple, rarely branched, to 16 cm; branches 1 or 2 pairs, from basal cauline nodes; cauline internode lengths (1–)2–6 times subtending leaves. Leaves: blade ovate to orbiculate, 2–6 mm, margins incised-crenate, teeth 1–4(or 5) pairs, apices obtuse to subacute. Inflorescences beginning at node 2–5, proximal internode lengths 0.5–1.5(–2.5) times bracts; bracts green, sometimes purplish adaxially, broader than leaves, ovate to obovate, length not more than 2 times width, 4–6(–8) mm, surfaces densely hirsute and hairs eglandular, teeth 4 or 5(or 6) pairs, as long as wide, apices acute. Flowers: corolla yellow, adaxial lip sometimes lilac, 4–5.5 mm, abaxial lip slightly exceeding adaxial. Capsules oblong to elliptic, 4–5(–6) mm, apex slightly retuse.
