Plants 3–4 dm. Caudex stems spreading. Leaves sheathing up stems; blade elliptic to deltoid, 0.3–1.2 × 0.2–0.7 cm. 2n = 40.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Dec.
Habitat: Granitic flat outcrops, ledges, and crevices, mixed grassland and mesquite communities, juniper and oak woodlands
Elevation: 200-600 m

Discussion

Variety ramosissimum is restricted to the “Hill Country” in Burnet, Gillespie, Llano, and Mason counties of central Texas, where it can be locally common.
