Plants 20–60 cm. Leaves linear. Heads 3–25.
Phenology: Flowering Jul–Aug.
Habitat: Damp meadows in oak woodlands and coniferous forests
Elevation: 1200–2200 m
Discussion
Variety yosemitanum occurs from southern Oregon to the Sierra Nevada of California.
