Involucres 1.5–3.5 cm diam. corollas lavender to rich pink-purple.
Phenology: Flowering summer (Jun–Aug).
Habitat: Arid slopes, roadsides, grasslands, sagebrush scrub, dry woodlands, montane forests
Elevation: 1400–3100 m
Distribution
Idaho, Nev., Utah, Wyo.
Discussion
Variety davisii occurs in the northern Great Basin region and adjacent mountains from northern Nevada and southern Idaho to eastern Wyoming and northern Utah.
