Leaf blades (1–)1.9–3(–4.1) × (0.4–)0.5–1.1(–1.8) cm, abaxial surface loosely strigose, hairs 0.2–0.5(–0.7) mm, without underlying layer of white finely coiled-crisped hairs.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun; fruiting May–Oct.
Habitat: Limestone cliffs, ravines, slopes in oak-juniper woodlands.
Elevation: 300–600 m.
Distribution
Tex., Mexico (Coahuila).
Discussion
Variety ernestii occurs in Bandera, Blanco, Hays, Kendall, and Travis counties in central Texas and in northern Coahuila, Mexico.
