Plants (4–)8–40(–70) cm. Basal leaf blades linear-oblanceolate to narrowly oblanceolate, (30–)80–120(–350) × (1–)2–6(–9) mm, apices acute. Cypselae strigillose. 2n = 18, 36.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Sep.
Habitat: Bogs (sometimes with Darlingtonia), marshes, moist to wet meadows, lake edges, pine woods, alpine tundra
Elevation: (1200–)1500–3300(–3700) m
