Leaves mostly 25–50 mm, relatively even in lengths to heads. Involucres 3–3.8 mm. Ray corollas 2–3 mm. Cypselae 1–1.4 mm. 2n = 16.
Phenology: Flowering (Apr–)Jun–Nov(–Dec).
Habitat: Gravelly, sandy, or loamy flats, rocky slopes, crevices and ledges, streambeds, creosote bush to pinyon-juniper and pine-oak-maple
Elevation: (300–)600–2300(–2700) m
Distribution
Ariz., N.Mex., Tex., Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí), Central America (Guatemala).
