Caudices woody, fibrous-rooted. Stems erect to declined, puberulent. Leaves: petioles 8–30 mm; blades mostly 3–9 × 2–5.5 cm, bases truncate to cordate, margins crenate-serrate to serrate, faces minutely and sparsely puberulent. Corollas 3.5–4.5 mm. 2n = 20.


Phenology: Flowering Jul–Sep(–Oct).
Habitat: Limestone boulders, crevices, ridgetops, sandstone bluffs, pine woodlands, pine and fir with Douglas fir woods
Elevation: 1700–2600(–2800) m
