Young branches red. Leaves scattered along branchlets; blade usually dull green, especially abaxially, elliptic to oblong, 3–8.5 cm, base acute to obtuse, margins serrulate, apex acute to obtuse, both surfaces glabrous. Drupes pyriform.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Pine forests, sagebrush steppe.
Elevation: 1200–1700 m.
