Stems 15–40 cm, glabrous or stipitate-glandular. Leaves: basal blades erect to somewhat spreading, needlelike, 1.5–8 cm × 0.5–1.5 mm, herbaceous. Inflorescences 1–3 umbellate cymes; bracts generally clustered at base of inflorescence. Pedicels 1–12 mm, glabrous. Sepals weakly to conspicuously 1–3-veined, 3–4 mm, apex obtuse.
Phenology: Flowering late spring–early summer.
Habitat: Rocky mountain slopes and outcrops
Elevation: 1200-3300 m
