Culms not dilated directly proximal to flower, 0.1–0.3 mm diam. Inflorescences: bracts subtending inflorescence 1–2, rounded to obtusely ovate, 1–2 mm. Capsules usually longer than tepals. n = 16.


Phenology: Flowering and fruiting spring–early fall.
Habitat: Various damp open habitats including vernal depressions, streambeds, swales in sagebrush flats, forest clearing and alpine meadows
Elevation: 400–3200 m
