Annuals, biennials, or perennials; trichomes usually simple, sometimes mixed with branched, smaller ones. Cauline leaves: blade base cuneate to auriculate. Fruits not inflated; valves somewhat to strongly keeled. 2n = 14.
Phenology: Flowering Feb–May.
Habitat: Coastal plains, near beaches, open chaparral, sandy areas and flats with black, clayey soils
Elevation: 0-200 m
Distribution
Tex., Mexico (Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Veracruz).
