Leaf blades usually narrowly oblanceolate to narrowly spatulate, thinly floccose or glabrous on both surfaces or thinly floccose abaxially and eventually glabrous adaxially, margins usually plane. Inflorescences umbellate or compound-umbellate. Perianths pale yellow to cream or ochroleucous.
Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Sandy to gravelly, often volcanic flats and slopes, sagebrush communities, montane conifer woodlands
Elevation: 600-2200 m
Discussion
Variety fasciculifolium is known only from southwestern Idaho in two disjunct areas (Adams and Washington counties in the west, and Blaine and Gem counties to the east). This variety is the most attractive expression of the species and would do well in the garden.
