Plants 2–4 dm. Aerial flowering stems slender, not fistulose, 1–3 dm, usually glabrous rarely floccose. Leaf blades lanceolate, 2–7 × (0.7–)1–2(–2.5) cm. Involucres glabrous. Flowers 5–6 mm; perianth bright yellow or ochroleucous.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jul.
Habitat: Sandy to gravelly slopes, mixed grassland and sagebrush communities, montane conifer woodlands
Elevation: 250-1900(-2500) m

Discussion

Variety lancifolium is local and usually uncommon in the mountains of Chelan, Kittitas, Okanogan, and Yakima counties in eastern Washington.
