Perennials; rhizomes bearing overwintering leaf tufts at upturned ends. Stems glabrate to sparsely strigose (hairs appressed to ascending, 0.2–0.5 mm), more densely strigose immediately proximal to heads. Leaves: basal blades linear to linear-oblanceolate, 1–3.5(–6) mm wide, margins entire (cauline faces glabrate or sparsely to moderately strigillose). Involucres 2.5–3(–4) mm. Phyllaries glabrate or sparsely strigose (hairs terete, 0.1–0.4 mm).
Phenology: Flowering late May–Oct.
Habitat: Dolomite glades
Elevation: 20–50 m
