Plants 10–60 cm. Leaf blades 2–12 × 1–4 cm, margins denticulate to coarsely and regularly dentate or repand-dentate with callous-tipped teeth. Involucres 5–8 mm. Phyllaries: apices acute, abaxial faces ± glandular. Ray or pistillate corollas: laminae ca. 0.5 mm or none. Cypselae 1.5–2 mm; pappi 3–4 mm. 2n = 20.
Phenology: Flowering Dec–Apr(–May), sporadically year-round.
Habitat: Rocky pinelands, pine-palm woods, commonly moist habitats
Elevation: 0–10 m
Distribution
Fla., West Indies (Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica).
