Leaf blades 20–30 mm, margins usually entire, proximal rarely toothed or lobed (in Arizona). Involucres 5–7 mm. Phyllary apices usually rounded, not spinulose, sometimes with weakly developed aristae. Florets 18–24. 2n = 24.


Phenology: Flowering (Jun–)Sep–Nov.
Habitat: Salt shrub, often with Larrea
Elevation: 600–1100 m
