Leaf sheaths papillose (30X), sometimes sparsely so. Perigynium beak ascending or loosely spreading, 2.8–4 mm, exceeding pistillate scales 0–0.8 mm. 2n = 52, 54, 56.


Phenology: Fruiting late spring–early summer.
Habitat: Dry to moist, open forests and meadows
Elevation: 0–1000 m
