Thyrses continuous or interrupted. Flowers: corolla 14–18 mm, limb lavender to violet; pollen sacs 1.3–1.6 mm.
Phenology: Flowering (May–)Jun–Jul.
Habitat: Pine-juniper, oak-maple, conifer, and aspen-conifer woodlands.
Elevation: 1700–3100 m.
Distribution
Ariz., Nev., Utah.
Discussion
Variety higginsii is known from the Black Rock Mountains (Mohave County) of Arizona, the Clover Mountains (Lincoln County) and Snake Range (White Pine County) of Nevada, and the Bull Valley and Pine Valley mountains and Kolob Plateau (Iron and Washington counties) of Utah.
