Stems 10–25 cm. Leaf blades usually 1(–3)-nerved, linear to narrowly lanceolate, 30–90 × 1–2 mm. Heads 10–25. Involucres 5–8 × 1.3–2 mm. Phyllaries 11–15. Ray florets usually 1; corollas 5–7.5 mm, laminae 0.7–1.5 mm wide. Disc florets 2–3; corollas 4–5.8 mm, lobes 0.5–1 mm. 2n = 18.


Phenology: Flowering mid summer–fall.
Habitat: Dry, open, rocky habitats
Elevation: 1500–2500 m
