Plants, erect or mound-forming, 1–3 m; twigs short glandular-hairy. Petioles 4–8 mm, ± rough, papillate, short-glandular-hairy. Inflorescences: axis short glandular-hairy; bracts short glandular-hairy.
Phenology: Flowering winter–early spring.
Habitat: Chaparral, on or near serpentine
Elevation: 400-600 m
Discussion
Of conservation concern.
Subspecies raichei occurs in the interior Coast Range near the border of Mendocino and Lake counties.
