Leaves: blades usually green, epidermal gas pockets usually absent; basal leaf rosettes suberect to flattened, 2–30 cm, blade deltate, apex apiculate drip tip, mucro 1–2 mm; cauline leaves perfoliate, blade 1–10 cm diam., margins notched or deeply cleft, apex often with twin apiculate, curved tips. Seeds 2–3 mm. 2n = 12, 24, 60.


Phenology: Flowering Feb–Apr.
Habitat: Rockslides, landslides, along animal trails
Elevation: 0-2000 m

Discussion

In the Channel Islands and Arizona, flowering apparently follows spring rains.
