|discussion=<p><i>Potentilla newberryi</i> grows in valley bottoms in south-central Oregon, northeastern California, and northwestern <i>Nevada</i>. The only specimen supposedly collected in south-central Washington (W. N. Suksdorf 2718, WTU) was gathered in 1898.</p>
