|discussion=<p>There are very few collections of <i>Argythamnia argyraea</i>, which is endemic to south Texas in Kinney, La Salle, and Maverick counties. Plants of <i>Argythamnia argyraea</i> are usually dioecious, but William Mahler found that larger plants are occasionally monoecious (J. Poole, pers. comm.).</p>
