|discussion=<p><i>Drosera linearis</i> is especially frequent on marly shores and fens of the western Great Lakes in Michigan. There, it is often found with <i>D. anglica</i> and <i>D. rotundifolia</i>. <i>Drosera linearis</i> is usually found on open marl, <i>D. rotundifolia</i> on sphagnum hummocks, and <i>D. anglica</i> more often around bases of hummocks and on fen margins (D. E. Schnell 2002). This is perhaps the most difficult species to maintain in cultivation, especially in warmer climates.</p>
