|discussion=<p><i>Eriogonum polypodum</i> is found in the southern Sierra <i>Nevada</i> in Fresno and Tulare counties, with the bulk of its scattered populations west of Mt. Whitney. The chalky white flowers are distinctive, especially when observed in the field, and unique in subg. Oligogonum.</p>
