|discussion=<p><i>Packera aurea</i> is abundant and widespread throughout eastern United States and Canada. It reproduces asexually from branched rhizomes or from adventitious shoots. Putative hybrids between <i>P. aurea</i> and <i>P. paupercula</i>, <i>P. pseudaurea</i>, <i>P. schweinitziana</i>, and <i>P. tomentosa</i> have been reported.</p>
