|discussion=<p><i>Penstemon marcusii</i> is found in the San Rafael Swell and along the eastern edge of the Wasatch Plateau in Carbon and Emery counties, Utah. The species is most similar to <i>P. goodrichii</i>, differing primarily in its puberulent stems and smaller flowers.</p>
