Leaflets 11–14. Inflorescences 1–6-flowered. Flowers opening before peduncle and internode elongation, usually containing young fruit when first open; corolla pinkish white to light lavender. 2n = 14.

Habitat: Sandy or clay soils, limestone hills, cedar breaks, deciduous woodlands, bottomlands, wooded streamsides.
Elevation: 0–1000 m.
