Stems less than 1.5 mm wide, margins entire. Spathes: keels entire, outer at least 2 times inner, basally connate 2.6–7 mm. Outer tepals 18–20 mm; filaments purple. 2n = 64.


Phenology: Flowering late spring–summer.
Habitat: Moist, open, grassy areas
Elevation: 0–250 m

Discussion

Var. macounii is especially common in the San Juan Islands.
