Shrubs or trees, 1–10 m. Buds caprea-type. Leaves: stipules on late ones rudimentary or foliaceous; largest medial blade 1.9–9.6 times as long as wide, adaxial surface not glaucous. Staminate flowers: filaments glabrous. Pistillate flowers: adaxial nectary shorter than stipe; stipe 0.4–2.4 mm; ovary glabrous; stigmas with flat, non-papillate abaxial surface, or stigmas plump, 0.1–0.6 mm.
