Etymology: Greek rhynchos, beak, and generic name Sida, a lluding to beaked mericarps

Herbs [shrubs], perennial. Stems trailing to ascending, stellate-hairy, not viscid. Leaves: stipules persistent, linear; blade oblong-ovate to oblong-lanceolate [orbiculate], unlobed, base shallowly cordate, margins crenate or serrate. Inflorescences axillary solitary flowers; involucel absent.

Distribution

sc, sw North America, Mexico, South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay).

Discussion

Rhynchosida kearneyi Fryxell is endemic to Bolivia.
