Flowers: calyx lobes (3.2–)4.5–7 mm; corolla 11–15 mm; pollen sacs 0.7–1 mm; style 8–11 mm.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jun(–Jul).
Habitat: Sandy soils, dunes, sagebrush and shadscale communities.
Elevation: 600–1700 m.

Discussion

Variety latebracteatus is more widely distributed than var. acuminatus. Most populations occur in the Snake River Basin of southern Idaho, the Owyhee River Basin of southwestern Oregon, and the Humboldt River Basin of Nevada.
