Plants low, densely cespitose, hairs silvery-white. Leaves 1.5–4 cm; rachis 0.5–1(–2) cm, usu­ally shorter than longest leaf­let; leaflets 5–9(or 11), congested on rachis, 3–10(–13) mm. Peduncles erect, ascending, or curved, 2–9 cm, usually surpassing leaves, axis 0.5–1.5 cm in fruit. Racemes 3–10-flowered, subcapitate at anthesis. Calyces 9–10.5 mm, hispid-hirsute, hairs ascending-spreading. Corollas 18–22 mm. Legumes short-stipitate, inflated.


Phenology: Flowering spring–early summer.
Habitat: Hilltops, bluffs.
Elevation: 1300–3200 m.
