Herbs glabrous; tendrils branched. Calyces: lateral lobes lanceolate, longer than tube. 2n = 28.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Wood­lands.
Elevation: 0–500 m.

Discussion

Lateral calyx lobes in var. arkansanus are somewhat poly­morphic. It is found in the extreme southwestern corner of the distribution of the species.
