Leaves: petiole short stipitate-glandular mixed with long stipitate-glandular; blade pentagonal or heptagonal, deeply lobed. Inflorescences long stipitate-glandular. Flowers: hypanthium broadly turbinate, 1.5–4.7 × 1.5–3.8 mm, long stipitate-glandular; sepals 0.5–1.3 mm, apex rounded to acute; petals 0.3–0.7 mm wide; styles 1.8–4.2 mm. 2n = 14, 28.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jul.
Habitat: Redwood or pine forest over sandstone, granite, or serpentine soils
Elevation: 0-1600 m

Discussion

Variety hartwegii occurs in the Coast Ranges.
