Subshrubs to 100 cm. Leaf blades elliptic to lance-oblong, (20–)50–100 × 10–40+ mm. Ray florets 13–21; laminae 10–15+ mm. Disc florets 40–50; corollas 5–6 mm. Cypselae 8–12 mm, sericeous; pappi to 4 mm.


Phenology: Flowering mostly Aug–Oct.
Habitat: Rocky slopes, disturbed sites
Elevation: 1500–2100 m (Mexico)
