Endemic
Leaves narrowly linear, linear, or narrowly linear-lanceolate, (25–)30–60(–100) × 1.5–3.5(–4.5) mm, length 15–20(–50) times width, apex short-acute to acuminate.
Phenology: Flowering and fruiting spring–fall.
Habitat: Pine savannas, pine-oak scrub, disturbed sandy soils, often in seasonally inundated soils.
Elevation: 10–30 m.
Discussion
Variety garrettii is endemic to pineland habitats in the west-central Florida peninsula.
